Mark’s journey into educational development began elsewhere in the social sciences, with an academic background in world archaeology and anthropology. During doctoral work in South Africa, he forged a deep appreciation for the power of sustainable, community-centred learning. He later pursued these interests with an MSc in Education (Learning and Technology) at the University of Oxford.
From his international experience working with universities and further education institutions, Mark has developed a nuanced understanding of effective learning. He has a wide range of skills in curriculum development, learning design, and digital learning strategies, and enjoys collaborating with educators to create pedagogically powerful learning experiences.
Mark is a member of the Jisc Learning and Teaching Experts Group and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
